The courses, structured and organized on a sound academic basis, are linked to the Renaissance and neoclassical tradition. They are designed for those who want to seriously engage with commitment and passion to learn and practice the drawing and painting techniques. The programme provides for a full immersion in drawing as a prerequisite to the Painting courses.

All the necessary materials – the best drawing and painting products available on the market – are provided by the school.  The fees include all these supplies.

An important advantage of studying at our academy is that class is limited to a maximum of twelve students, with two faculty members: this secures private teaching that is tailored to each student’s level.

Drawing
The first course is comprised of progressive drawing exercises of basic importance. These exercises are vital for the subsequent learning of the painting techniques.
Contour drawing, light & shadow effects (chiaroscuro), preliminary study of volumes, and intensive exercises in Life Drawing and Cast Drawing.

Painting
The painting section includes an in-depth study of the rudimentary principles underlying the use of palette colours as well as an introduction to the colour theory. This is followed by preparatory exercises which lead to the very core of the painting course: Painting with a new awareness.

Life Drawing
The life drawing programme is dedicated to the study of the human figure.

Portrait Studies
After completing all the previous courses, students will learn the techniques of painting portraits.
